Join your fellow parishioners at the annual meeting, November 6, between the 9:00 and 11:15 AM services in lieu of coffee hour. In addition to electing the incoming vestry, other parish business and update items will be covered. A big “thank you” to our five vestry nominees: Ron Barbee, Olivia Delahaye, Bill Gautier, Paul Sanders, and Victor Talbird. Thank you for your donations to the Episcopal Farmworker Ministry following the flooding after Hurricane Matthew. The displaced families and farmworkers are now living with relatives or host families. The need for clothing has been taken care of and the most dire need for now is for food. St. Paul’s Arts and Crafts Festival for 2016 will be on Saturday, November 12, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. You’ll find handmade items from parishioners and local artists, along with knit and crochet items by Prayer Stitchers, musical entertainment from choir members, a bake sale, a book sale, food trucks, and a huge raffle. THANK YOU ST PAUL’S COMMUNITY! I want to express my sincere thanks to all who supported the SHN event on Sunday, Oct 16, 2016. We had a record number of volunteers, generous monetary donations, and packed a record number of meals. We had over 80 folks participate, exceeded our financial goal by several hundred dollars (this will go to next SHN event in the spring of 2017), and packed close to 13,000 meals all in about 1.5 hours. I am blessed to be a part of such a caring and compassionate community. Glenda Swann
We’re planning a used book sale as part of the Arts & Crafts Festival, to be held on November 12. We’re looking for donations of books in very good condition. (No encyclopedias, textbooks, or outdated travel guides, please.) All proceeds from the Festival will go to Outreach. You can drop off your books to the right of the lobby in front of the music room beginning Sunday, October 30.
Do you like to read a good mystery? Come join us on the 1st Tuesday of every other month to discuss some of your favorite books. Next meeting Tuesday November 8, 2016 at 7:00 PM, when we discuss Bootleggers Daughter by Margaret Maron. We meet at the Starbucks, 1107 Cary Towne Blvd. Near the Cary Towne Mall. St. Paul’s has been a partner congregation of Wheels4Hope since 2008. Wheels4Hope accepts donations of used vehicles, refurbishes them, and places them with our neighbors who need a hand-up.
