One-man Play: Clarence Darrow (Mar 15, 2018)

Our St. Paul’s neighbor, Cary Presbyterian Church is inviting interested people at St. Paul’s and in the community to attend a one-man play about the life and work of Clarence Darrow. The play will be held at Cary Presbyterian, 614 Griffis Street. On Thursday, March 15 at 7:00 p.m.  John Robinson, a retired teacher from Winston-Salem, will perform “One-man Play: Clarence Darrow”. The play features the life of Darrow, a determined and hardworking lawyer who fought for basic human rights. Robinson chronicles Darrow’s achievements and failures in the form of monologues. In the first act, he discusses capital punishment before transitioning into how he became a lawyer. The second act focuses on instances where Darrow had to defend himself. The performance highlights his journey to and through the legal profession, selected trials, and issues such as equal rights, the economy, and the death penalty.
