ANNOUNCEMENTS

Please remember to silence your cell phones.

 CHILDREN’S CHAPEL

Children’s Chapel, for children ages 3-2nd grade, will be held today at the 9:00 a.m. service.

VBS

Register today…deadline is Sunday, May 19th!  Join us for this sports-themed week as we explore some FUNdamentals of our Faith with lessons from the sports field:  teamwork, leadership, practice, patience, love of the game (and each other!).  Forms are in the narthex and can be returned to the church office in person or via mail.

VBS VOLUNTEERS needed: We are in need of leaders for age groups – 4s, K, 1, 2, 3 and in the following rotations:  Arts & Crafts (3), Games (1), and Snack (2).  Questions?  Contact Sara Concini at vbs@stpaulscary.org.

YOUTH

  • Youth Christian Formation: The lesson is entitled “Life-Long Learner: Road to Life.”  Middle School meets in the youth wing (go straight there, snacks are provided) and High School meets in Room 10.
  • EYC Tonight 5:00-7:00 p.m.: Finally, we’re back together and it will be a busy night.  We’re going to plant the garden beds, so wear clothes that can get dirty.  We will also be working on Youth Sunday plans.  And of course, there’s dinner and fellowship.

ADULT FORMATION

Sunday Morning: Join us at 10:15 a.m. in the chapel today, April 28, as Fr. George Adamik discusses his upcoming sabbatical.

Wednesday Evenings: The spring Wednesday evening series is Finding God with Emily Dickinson.  Join us as George Van Arnam, a retired pastoral counselor, leads four sessions on May 1, 8, 15, and 22 at 7:00 p.m. in the youth wing.  Materials will be provided. Dickinson’s poems tell of coming near to God, and of doubt and loss.  In the honesty and vivid imagery of her poems, many have found words that describe their own faith journeys.

CAPITAL PROJECT UPDATE:  Check out the update to the capital project now available on the St. Paul’s website, including information about repairs, renovations, and exciting possibilities for new construction.

COFFEE HOUR MINISTRY HIGHLIGHTS:

There will be a special parish update in the Church following the 9:00 a.m. service today.  Topics on the agenda will include George’s sabbatical and a parish business update, covering areas of staffing as well as building and grounds improvements.  Coffee will be served by the Vestry in the narthex before the meeting.

Next week the Lectors will host coffee hour.  Lectors read the lessons and lead the congregation in prayers at worship services.  Stop by to thank them or to volunteer for this important work.

ASP CHORE DAY:  Saturday, May 11, 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon.  Reserve your crew of ASP youth and adults now!  Contact Susannah Vitaglione at 919-619-5103 or email her at susannahv@gmail.com.  Youth will volunteer at ASP in Kentucky this summer.  Help support their trip by hiring youth to do chores this spring!
