Calling all Rising 4th Graders and their Families
Pre-EYC would like to invite you and your entire family to the End of Year Pre-EYC picnic THIS SUNDAY, April 23, from 11:15am-1pm. This is a great chance to meet other Pre-EYCers, socialize and do a bit of volunteering! We will gather on the playground at 11:15am and enjoy our picnic lunches (brought from home). Then, we will do some yard work on the playground and on the other green areas of the church. Before we head home, we will provide a treat for everyone (think ice cream!). Please email Christine Ingram by April 20 if your family will be attending. We can’t wait to welcome our upcoming 4th graders! If it rains, we will relocate to the Parish Hall.
St. Paul’s Annual Picnic-May 21
Mark your calendar for Sunday, May 21 for the Annual St. Paul’s Picnic! There will be two services that Sunday (7:30am and 10am) and the picnic will immediately follow the 10am service. Men’s group will be grilling hamburgers and parishioners should bring a side to share. Wear your casual clothes and come enjoy great food and fellowship! CHILDREN-we will have a giant slide in the parking lot during the picnic! We will also have bubbles, sidewalk chalk and other general merriment!
VBS Registration Forms Due May 15
Mark your calendars for our annual Vacation Bible School, July 10-14 (9am-12pm). VBS Registration Forms for Participants and Volunteers are available in the Narthex and Ed. Bldg. and are due on May 15. Through stories, crafts, science and music we will learn about planting your “garden,” being “fed,” growing with Heifer International and growing with your friends! Come join us for a week of fun and learning and let your Faith Grow! We are in need of storytelling center leader(s), 3 year old group center leader and games/playground center leader. And, of course we need parent volunteers to serve as guides and youth to serve as helpers. Please contact Stacy Lyerly (email@example.com) if you have any questions!

Sunday School Lesson: Jesus Ascends into Heaven
(yes, we are a little early with this lesson-Ascension Day is May 25)
Summary of This week’s Lesson:
For forty days after his death, Jesus appears to his apostles and promises them the gift of the Holy Spirit. Then Jesus is taken up to heaven while they watch.
The Episcopal Thread:
Ascension Day falls on a Thursday, forty days after Jesus’ resurrection. This follows the biblical text which says that Jesus walked on the earth as the risen Christ for forty days before he ascended into heaven. Even though Ascension Day falls on a weekday,
it is one of the seven Principal Feasts observed in the Church.
