What’s Happening in Children’s Ministries (week of Apr 9, 2017)

I hope all of you are well…many of us are counting down to Spring Break-hang in there, just three more days to go!

A huge thank you to everyone that was able to bring food to last week’s Communion Celebration.  We really appreciate your help.  What a beautiful and fun day!

This Sunday, Palm Sunday, is a very special Sunday at St. Paul’s.  We gather outside in the traffic circle, get our palms and process into the Sanctuary.  The Passion is read and there will be special music (you might see someone you know playing the flute with the children’s choir at the 9am service!).  We will have Children’s Chapel at both the 9am and 11:15am services, but we will not have Sunday School.  Hope to see you!

Note in the Pocket Socks and Undies Sundays are back!  Please contribute new (in packaging) socks and undies OR new and like new clothing and shoes for Wake County Children in need.  All sizes (including adult sizes) and genders welcome.  Please place all donations in the bin in the Narthex.  Thank you!  This is our last collection until Fall 2017.

Mark your calendars for our annual Vacation Bible School, July 10-14 (9am-12pm).  VBS Registration Forms for Participants and Volunteers are available in the Narthex and Ed. Bldg.  Through stories, crafts, science and music we will learn about planting your “garden,” being “fed,” growing with Heifer International and growing with your friends!  Come join us for a week of fun and learning and let your Faith Grow!  We are in need of storytelling center leader(s), 3 year old group center leader and games/playground center leader.  And, of course we need parent volunteers to serve as guides and youth to serve as helpers.  Come join us as Please contact Stacy Lyerly (slyerly33@gmail.com) if you have any questions!

We really need Easter Candy for the Easter Egg Hunt!  This Sunday, April 9, is the last Sunday we will collect candy for the St. Paul’s Easter Egg Hunt.  I know many bunnies are out gathering their treats this week-would you mind picking up an extra bag of candy and donating it to St. Paul’s?  We need small, individually wrapped, nut free candy.  There is a candy collection bin in the Narthex.  Thank you so much!

Additional Children’s Ministries News

  • The 2016-2017 Children’s Collection Basket is collecting funds to host a Note in the Pocket Sort Day on June 4, 2017.  So far we have collected $1744.10 toward our $3000.00 goal.
  • Our Easter Egg hunt is NEXT Sunday!  It will be held on the St. Paul’s campus, starting around 10:30am.  Please bring your bag or basket to collect eggs!
  • Children’s Chapel will be held at the 9am and 11:15am services this Sunday.  Children ages 3 through 2nd grade are invited to follow the children’s cross processional to the Youth Wing.  Children will return to the Sanctuary during the Peace.

Following the festivities of Palm Sunday, we will have many services during Holy Week.  The Good Friday Stations of the Cross Service at 10am (on Good Friday) is especially great for children.  If you aren’t traveling for Spring Break I encourage you to bring the children and join us.
