WELCOME TO ST. PAUL'S OUTREACH MINISTRIES
"Everybody can be great, because everybody can serve."
Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
The Christian Social Ministries (CSM) committee is honored to assist the many wonderful ministries in our parish community in their important work to serve those in need. Volunteers at St. Paul's are dedicated to participating in outreach work - by donating blood to save lives, by donating food, shoes, and clothing to the needy, by donating Christmas gifts to underprivileged children, by packaging meals for the hungry, by delivering meals to the homebound, by making financial contributions to support outreach projects, by working with the homeless, by fixing up used cars to help people become self-reliant, helping our troops and veterans, and by doing so many other things to help others. Many thanks to the individual ministry leaders for giving so selflessly and tirelessly to coordinate these projects!
There are opportunities for members of St. Paul's to reach out to our local and international neighbors in different ways: by "giving" (donating items, contributing to collection 'drives' which reach out to different members of the community) and by "doing" (hands-on activities working directly with people on-site). We're excited about the many upcoming outreach projects planned to reach out to those in need - we invite and encourage you to participate in the projects that touch your heart. Please watch the bulletin, newsletter, website, e-news, and narthex displays for updates on outreach projects.
St. Paul's also contributes financially & materially, through monetary gifts & collection drives, to a number of local & global outreach ministries, including The Carying Place, Episcopal Campus Ministry, Episcopal Relief & Development (ERD), Heifer International, Penick Village, Thompson Child & Family Focus, and Urban Ministries of Wake County.
If you are a new family at St. Paul's, or a family new to outreach activities, you might start out by donating a few hours packaging dried food for "Stop Hunger Now" -- all ages from five and up are welcome; or by spending a couple of evening hours as social host for temporarily homeless families in Cary (Wake Interfaith Hospitality Network). There are many opportunities and we invite you to join us in "Reaching Out."
Our outreach ministries support Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). These MDGs are supported by St. Paul's, the Diocese of North Carolina, and the United Nations.
If you are interested in volunteering for any of St. Paul's "Reaching Out" ministries or simply in finding out more about any of these volunteer opportunities, please contact the leader listed on the relevant ministry page or contact me at
