Knitting Ministry Print E-mail

knitting_ministryThe St. Paul's Knitting Ministry meets weekly on Thursday evenings from 7:00 to 8:30 PM and on Wednesday mornings from 10:30 to noon. Daytime meetings will be in the Youth Wing except the third Wednesday of each month when we will meet in the Chapel. Evening meetings will be in the Youth Wing.

We enjoy fellowship while making items which will provide comfort and warmth to persons in need, such as caps and scarves for the homeless, security blankets for seriously ill or traumatized children, lap rugs and scarves for persons in nursing homes, and prayer shawls for persons in need of emotional support. Recent group projects include caps and scarves donated to the Raleigh Rescue Mission and an afghan donated to the ASP Silent Auction.

The Knitting Ministry is open to all ages, children, young people and adults. All who enjoy knitting or crocheting or would like to learn to knit are welcome. Join us and bring a friend for fellowship and knitting and crocheting for charity.

There are many charities and many persons in need. We continue to learn about opportunities to knit and crochet for others. Recent additions to our list of needs include active and disabled military personnel and women with heart disease.

Join us! Bring your needles and yarn and choose your charity and pattern. If you have charity knittting/crochet patterns you would like to share, please bring them.

If you would like to learn to knit, this is a great opportunity to learn from skilled knitters who are eager to teach this wonderful craft. If you can't come to meetings, contact Beth or Marilyn to see if we can arrange a different time for you to receive lessons.

If you like to knit or crochet for charity but can't attend meetings, contact Beth or Marilyn and ask to be put on our e-mail list so you can receive information about current group projects and ideas for individual projects. We can also help with distribution of items to charities.

Do you have leftover or unused yarn which needs a new home? We can use it! Bring it with you to a meeting or contact Beth or Marilyn to arrange for us to get it from you.
