Youth News (Apr 15, 2018)

Yes, Easter continues until Pentecost on May 20th. Enjoy the season!

I sent this announcement out on social media, but here it is again: The Episcopal Church is hosting a webinar TONIGHT from 7-8 called “Sustain the Energy: Advocacy Webinar for Youth.” Following the March for our Lives events across the country, The Office of Government Relations, Episcopal Youth Ministries, and Young Adult and Campus Ministries are offering an advocacy webinar and training to help sustain the energy around gun control and other issues vital to Episcopalians. Learn about how the Episcopal Church engages in federal-level advocacy, what issues we focus on, and how to get involved through the Episcopal Public Policy Network. This webinar is geared toward youth, but parents are welcome to watch too. I am hosting it in the Youth Wing, so come see how to put your faith in action.

Regular Events

  • Sunday School 10:15-11 am: The lesson Sunday is entitled “Success & Failure: Failure in God’s Eyes.” Middle School meets in the Youth Wing (go straight there, snacks are provided). High School meets in Room 10 and will continue to look at faith and civic engagement.
  • No EYC Sunday for Middle Schoolers: We are coming back from the Diocesan event, Genesis. Sorry, but it’s time to catch up on homework and sleep.
  • EYC Sunday for High Schoolers 5:30 – 7 pm: We are going out to dinner. Meet at St. Paul’s at 5:30 and we will carpool there. Pick up is at Chipotle (100 Wrenn Drive, Cary) at 7:00.

More Info

  • Calendar: The Spring Calendar is attached. Please note that April 22 EYC is back on the calendar. Somehow it got left off the first one (oops).

Have a great week!

Peace,
