Youth News (Oct 28, 2018)

The biggest Youth Ministry news this week is the Halloween Carnival happening on Sunday. Here is all the information:

  • We set up and run games for the children of the parish and it’s lots of fun! But again, we’ll need you to help. Parents, we need you too to make it all run smoothly. Here’s the sign up: https://bit.ly/2A3pV32.
  • Come to the youth wing at 3:00 for set up and dinner, the event runs from 5-7 pm and we ALL stay to clean up and leave by 8 pm.
  • Wear a costume!
  • This year we’ve replaced Trunk or Treat with a “Carved Pumpkin Contest.” Bring your already carved pumpkin with its candle in it and we’ll set them up for display. Participants can vote (25¢/vote), which will decide the winners for the following categories: Scariest, Most Beautiful, and Most Creative. There will be prizes. But you have to help run the carnival too!
  • Dinner will be served

SUNDAY MORNING

Youth Christian Formation Sunday: The lesson for Sunday is entitled “Dealing with Stress: Surrendering to God.” Middle School meets in the Youth Wing (go straight there, snacks are provided) and High School meets in Room 10.

 THANK YOU

Senior Luncheon Helpers: Thank you to the 9 youth and 3 adults who helped make the luncheon such a success. We had 29 seniors attend and there was awesome conversations and fellowship. The food was very good too! Thank you for helping make a lot of people happy and spreading God’s love.

PRAYERS

  • Please keep our youth and adults attending the Diocesan event, Happening, in your prayers over the weekend. We have 4 youth and 1 adult on team and 3 Happeners. This is a powerful weekend that focuses on our relationship with God and our own spiritual journey.

I hope to see you on Sunday.

Peace,
