Adult Formation (week of Jan 8, 2017)

Read about Adult Formation in the December/January Newsletter, pages 12, and 13. What we used to refer to as “adult education and spiritual development,” we are now calling Adult Formation or Faith Formation.

SUNDAY ADULT FORMATION

All are welcome to join the Rev. J. Carr Holland III January 8, 2017 in the Chapel from 10:15 – 11:00 AM for the first in a series of classes on “The Prophetic Voices of Scripture.” Coffee is available in the Chapel narthex before class.

The class on January 15, 2017 is entitled “The Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. and the Old Testament,” led by the Rev. Javier Almendárez Bautista.

WEDNESDAY EVENING SERIES

The Bible from Scratch: the Old Testament – Many people experience scripture piece meal, a bit here and a bit there.  That’s how we receive it if our primary experience of the Bible comes from worship Sunday by Sunday.  How might our insight change if we had a basic overview that let us comprehend how it all fits together over the long narrative of time?  That is what we will encounter over the next six Wednesdays, January 11 through February 15, from 7:00-8:00 PM. We will focus on the Old Testament these weeks and move to the New Testament in late Spring.

Nextdoor Instructions

Thank you for agreeing to publicize Lobster Fest on Nextdoor. Here are a few things we’re asking:

  1. Please post this as an Event.
  2. Under “Choose Neighbors,” select Yours and Nearby
  3. For Category, choose Festival. Title is “Lobster Fest Cary“.
  4. Cut and paste this description, please:

Lobster Fest Cary brings the fresh taste of Maine lobster right here to Wake County! The lobsters are pulled out of the water, packed in a cooler truck in Maine and driven overnight to Cary. Dine-In and enjoy a social event or Take Out and make your own event – Live Lobster, Cooked Lobster, Lobster Rolls – you decide! Pre-ordering online (lobsterfestcary.org) is a must, as quantities often run out early in the day, and we hate to disappoint Lobster Lovers.
