It is not enough for us to be non-racists, we must become anti-racists. How do we begin? How do we move from a comfortable position of not desiring to block racial equity, into an often-uncomfortable position of actively supporting racial equity? One way to start is by examining what it means to be a White person in America. In many ways, being White has more to do with racism in America than being a Person of Color.
We will be facilitating a study of the book, Waking up White and Finding Myself in the Story of Race via secure Zoom conferences. This study will be limited to small groups with the intention of providing a safe and confidential place to discuss our own whiteness and our role(s) in actively supporting the racial equity movement.
We still have openings in the Wednesday afternoon sessions, at 2:00 – 3:00 PM from July 1 through August 18.
The sign up for the study can be found here: https://tinyurl.com/wuwstudy. Upon signup, you will be emailed more information. We will have a supply of paperback books available at a discount for those that need them.
