On February 23, 2020 the Appalachia Service Project (ASP) will host coffee hour. ASP is a home repair ministry to needy families of central Appalachia. Youth and adult participants grow spiritually , gain self-confidence, and build relationships as they work together.
On March 1, 2020 coffee hour will be hosted by the Hermano Day ministry. Representatives from the Episcopal Farmworker Ministry will be here to tell us about the work being done to help our farmworker brothers in Christ. St. Paul’s helps by donating work clothes and bedding and by offering financial support.

Important: St. Paul’s is looking for a volunteer(s) to take over the coordination of Coffee Hour starting in 2020.
We are not asking for this person to be there every Sunday making coffee. We are looking for someone to maintain the sign up list, recruiting groups to prepare the coffee/snacks throughout the calendar year. Many dates are automatically filled with special holidays and events. The coordinator would be just that – the person who coordinates the sign ups and answers questions from groups about what the specific tasks might be. The Jan-May list is out and halfway filled already. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080d4eaeab2cab9-stpauls13
The vestry and clergy are fine with some dates going unfilled, if that’s unavoidable. Most ministries just need a little reminder/encouragement to step up and help. We think simple is sometimes better. We would also entertain discussion of new ideas for coffee hour – but you don’t have to invent anything either, if that’s not your style. Instructions/videos are already in place; we just need someone to step up and guide the ministries/groups to sign up and show up. The Signup Genius makes the whole process rather simple, even sending reminders!
If you or someone you know would be willing to do this hospitality ministry for 2020, please let me know. I will be happy to support you and make sure you understand exactly what it entails.
Sr. Warden, St. Paul’s Vestry
