Refuge for Refugees (R4R) Update – Help our Newest Family

JUNE 5, 2023 UPDATE: Due to your wonderful generosity, we have received about 60% of the items on the wish list for our new family. We are extending the drive for another week to give more people an opportunity to help, so please check out the R4R SignUp Genius page for the most up to date list of needs.
Our Refuge for Refugees Ministry (R4R) welcomed newcomers from El Salvador in mid-May of 2023 and is currently assisting them with settling into two new households. We have an ongoing need for Spanish language speakers/interpreters to work with other St. Paul’s volunteers as we mentor the family on a variety of topics they need to master as they adjust to life here in the U.S. Over the next few months, interpreters can help as a one-time effort or multiple times — whatever suits your schedule. Please contact Deb Richard or Linda Lytvinenko if you can volunteer or to find out more information. The R4R email address is refugeforrefugees@stpaulscary.org.
We are also looking for new and gently used items for the two households. Please see the R4R SignUp Genius page for the most up to date list of needs. Monetary donations are also helpful and can be made by sending a check to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church with “R4R Donation” noted on the memo line. You can also access online giving on our Donate page, making sure to designate “R4R Donation” in the notes section.
