What’s Happening in Children’s Ministries (week of Jun 18, 2017)

Can you smell the popcorn?  Do you hear the soda can opening?

Tomorrow we continue our Super Summer S(f)undays with freshly popped popcorn and soda/juice boxes!  Our Chapel Lesson is the lesson of Noah and Ark (with an animal hunt) and the Playground Parable is Exile and Return.  Note:  If it rains we will do the playground parable and popcorn in the Parish Hall.  It might be helpful to bring an old sheet or towel for your child to sit on if we do end up outside on the playground.  Regardless, bring Dad to church tomorrow and then bring him to the playground (or Parish Hall) for popcorn and a soda!  Please remember that we ask all children to listen to the Parable on Playground…it is very distracting to have some children running around and some trying to listen to a story.  So, if your child is on the playground during the parable they will be asked to come over and listen…it is only about 5-10 minutes.  Thank you!  Can’t wait to see everyone tomorrow!

Other Children’s News

  • The Children’s Little Brown Stewardship Basket is starting over again…we are working toward our 2018 Note in the Pocket Collection.  So far we have collected $48.98 toward our goal of $3000.00.
  • Children’s Chapel will be held only at the 9am worship service tomorrow and is open to all children age 3 through 2nd grade.  Immediately following the Collect children may follow the cross processional to the Youth Wing.  The children will return to the Sanctuary during the Peace.
  • We are looking forward to welcoming over 70 children and 30 volunteers to our 2017 VBS, Abundance Orchard:  Where Faith Grows!  Participant registration is closed, but we are still in need of youth and adult volunteers.  Please contact Christine Ingram if you would like to volunteer.

See you tomorrow!
