Endowment Board Announces 2020 Grants Awarded and 2021 Availability of Funds: Deadline Extended

The Endowment Board is delighted to make two announcements: grants have been awarded for the 2020 endowment funds; and 2021 endowment funds are now available!

2020 Endowment Funds

Thanks to the generosity of our wonderful Legacy Society (composed of any donor to the St. Paul’s Endowment), the following grants were awarded at the end of 2020:

  • Funds for the purchase of a new outdoor climbing structure for our most precious asset: the children of St. Paul’s.  This climbing structure was a much-needed replacement and will bring joy to our Kid’s Club and Preschool participants as they play outdoors.  Check it out if you have a chance, it’s pretty awesome!
  • Funds to begin the installation of professional landscape lighting in our beautiful courtyard.  Outdoor space is more important than ever for all of us!  We hope to make our courtyard even more useful and safe with upgraded and attractive lighting.  We hope you are all looking forward to using this space as soon as we are able to get back to gathering.
  • Funds for those working to better our community.  A grant was made to the Johnson Service Corp which has served many of our young adults.  Specifically, with so much attention on the need to recognize mental health in our community, JSC is undertaking to train its members to recognize and appropriately respond to mental health issues in the populations they serve.  We are delighted to help fund this project as an extension of St. Paul’s outreach efforts.

2021 Endowment Funds

The Endowment Board once again seeks your input on uses for this year’s endowment funds.  In 2021, the Endowment will distribute up to $10,750 from the General Fund, up to $1,000 from the Grounds Beautification Fund, and up to $750 from the Outreach Fund.  If you have a great idea about how these funds should be used, you are invited to complete this form , deadline extended to April 30th.

Nextdoor Instructions

Thank you for agreeing to publicize Lobster Fest on Nextdoor. Here are a few things we’re asking:

  1. Please post this as an Event.
  2. Under “Choose Neighbors,” select Yours and Nearby
  3. For Category, choose Festival. Title is “Lobster Fest Cary“.
  4. Cut and paste this description, please:

Lobster Fest Cary brings the fresh taste of Maine lobster right here to Wake County! The lobsters are pulled out of the water, packed in a cooler truck in Maine and driven overnight to Cary. Dine-In and enjoy a social event or Take Out and make your own event – Live Lobster, Cooked Lobster, Lobster Rolls – you decide! Pre-ordering online (lobsterfestcary.org) is a must, as quantities often run out early in the day, and we hate to disappoint Lobster Lovers.
