The annual Backpacks for Veterans will be Oct 18 – Nov 1. We will be collecting items in the narthex. We need help in sorting and filling the backpacks in the Parish Hall during coffee hour on Nov 1.
Items needed include:
- rugged new backpacks
- travel-size personal care items
- flip flops
- gym socks
- wipes
- t-shirts
The backpacks will be distributed to homeless and transitioning veterans in the local area by the Durham VA Hospital. Vets could be transitioning into the community thru training and education programs so the backpacks are very important! Please remember our female veterans and donate some female items as well. The Prayer Stitchers will be donating winter hats and scarves to be added to the backpacks. Thank you for your continued support of this much appreciated ministry!
