Fun & Rewarding Summer 2021 Outreach Opportunity

St. Paul’s is joining three other Cary churches (Cary Presbyterian, Greenwood Forest Baptist, and The Kirk of Kildaire) to offer a Summer Program for our community.  Children will gather three days a week at the Kirk for summer fun, including games and enrichment, as well as two meals.  Parents will be invited to ESL and other classes.  The goal is to build relationships with the children and parents, to help decrease the education gap, and to provide healthy nutrition for the kids.  Only vaccinated individuals will be allowed to participate and masks will be mandatory.  The Kirk has upgraded its air flow mechanics to be as virus-safe as possible.  Having taken all those precautions, the fun can begin!

St. Paul’s hopes to provide five volunteers each Tuesday between June 22, 2021, and August 10, 2021, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.  Anyone can volunteer!  Youth are welcome, as are parents with kids-in-tow!  You can sign up as an individual, or you can sign up your ministry or family or friend group.  And you can sign up for a day other than Tuesday if that day doesn’t work for you.  The program and the kitchen will be directed by paid, professional staffers; our volunteers are just there to help out!  This will be a great way to meet our neighbors, gather with your St. Paul’s friends, and connect with those in need in our community.  (And maybe learn some Spanish!)  There are volunteer roles in the kitchen as well as with the program participants.  Here is the link to sign up.
