Help Family Promise with Donations

Here is an update on Family Promise. As we all know, churches are closed and thus, the program of housing families in churches has ceased temporarily. FP has continued to support the families in the transitional housing apartments. For our host week that is coming up the week of May 31, 2020 our partner church White Plains Methodist will be providing and delivering dinners and groceries to the 5 families housed in the apartments. As for us, they have asked if we can instead help out in donations that can be sent to the Center. Below are suggestions from Suzy, the White Plains coordinator:

Sidewalk chalk, bubbles, outdoor playground balls , coloring books, indoor board/card games . if you guys can get and kid supplies and things from current amazon wish-list that would be great. They suggested no paints or stickers.

Here are the links to FP’s support page and Amazon Wish List:

If you decide not to use Amazon, your can send to the Family Promise Day Center at 903 Method Rd, Raleigh, NC 27606.

If you decide to donate, please make a note in the delivery/gift note that it is coming from a St Paul’s volunteer.

Nextdoor Instructions

Thank you for agreeing to publicize Lobster Fest on Nextdoor. Here are a few things we’re asking:

  1. Please post this as an Event.
  2. Under “Choose Neighbors,” select Yours and Nearby
  3. For Category, choose Festival. Title is “Lobster Fest Cary“.
  4. Cut and paste this description, please:

Lobster Fest Cary brings the fresh taste of Maine lobster right here to Wake County! The lobsters are pulled out of the water, packed in a cooler truck in Maine and driven overnight to Cary. Dine-In and enjoy a social event or Take Out and make your own event – Live Lobster, Cooked Lobster, Lobster Rolls – you decide! Pre-ordering online (lobsterfestcary.org) is a must, as quantities often run out early in the day, and we hate to disappoint Lobster Lovers.
