St. Paul’s Donates over $8400 to Heifer International in 2020

A huge “Thank You” to everyone who donated to Heifer International in 2020. St. Paul’s annual donation has amounted to $8416.52. This is truly a remarkable donation considering that our regular in-person Sunday worship services had to stop in mid March because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Sunday services have for many years provided a weekly opportunity to donate to Heifer International. During the Advent season between Thanksgiving and Christmas, in place of our “Alternate Gift Giving” opportunity to support Heifer, an online St. Paul’s “Living Gift Market” was set up. A total of $5579 was donated through this website, resulting in the over $8400 annual donation of St. Paul’s to Heifer International. This wonderful contribution will purchase not only a “Gift Ark” of animals but many more animals besides. The $5000 Gift Ark provides pairs of livestock—including cows, sheep, goats, oxen, water buffalo, camels, llamas, donkeys, pigs, and beehives—to needy families around the world, along with education and training. These gifts promote sustainable farming, reliable incomes, and good nutrition. Thank you to all who have so generously supported Heifer International in its mission to transform people’s lives and to help eradicate hunger and poverty. Your donations will be most gratefully received during these challenging times.

In 2021, as St. Paul’s continues online worship services, please watch for announcements about a continuing opportunity to donate to Heifer International through a St. Paul’s Heifer webpage. Parishioners may also mail donations to the church.

Nextdoor Instructions

Thank you for agreeing to publicize Lobster Fest on Nextdoor. Here are a few things we’re asking:

  1. Please post this as an Event.
  2. Under “Choose Neighbors,” select Yours and Nearby
  3. For Category, choose Festival. Title is “Lobster Fest Cary“.
  4. Cut and paste this description, please:

Lobster Fest Cary brings the fresh taste of Maine lobster right here to Wake County! The lobsters are pulled out of the water, packed in a cooler truck in Maine and driven overnight to Cary. Dine-In and enjoy a social event or Take Out and make your own event – Live Lobster, Cooked Lobster, Lobster Rolls – you decide! Pre-ordering online (lobsterfestcary.org) is a must, as quantities often run out early in the day, and we hate to disappoint Lobster Lovers.
