Stop Hunger Now (rescheduled for Oct 16, 2016)

ARE YOU READY TO PACK?
Rescheduled:
October 16, 2016

We have a wonderful opportunity to help those in Haiti that were significantly impacted by Hurricane Matthew. We will be packing meals this Sunday (Oct 16) that will be included in shipments to Haiti. We need 8 or so strong backs to help set up at 9:00 AM. We will start packing meals promptly at 10:00 AM and finish at 12:00 noon. Based on the number of volunteers that sign up, we will pack between 10,000 and 13,000 meals. We need between 45-70 volunteers to make this a successful event. All folks who signed up for the Oct 9 event will need to re-sign up for this event since the date changed.  All donations already made will be used for this event. Below is the link for you to sign up as well as make a donation. For those who cannot attend, making a donation would be much appreciated as it helps defray the cost for those who would like to participate. If you have any questions, please contact Glenda Swann at swann.glenda@gmail.com.

Nextdoor Instructions

Thank you for agreeing to publicize Lobster Fest on Nextdoor. Here are a few things we’re asking:

  1. Please post this as an Event.
  2. Under “Choose Neighbors,” select Yours and Nearby
  3. For Category, choose Festival. Title is “Lobster Fest Cary“.
  4. Cut and paste this description, please:

Lobster Fest Cary brings the fresh taste of Maine lobster right here to Wake County! The lobsters are pulled out of the water, packed in a cooler truck in Maine and driven overnight to Cary. Dine-In and enjoy a social event or Take Out and make your own event – Live Lobster, Cooked Lobster, Lobster Rolls – you decide! Pre-ordering online (lobsterfestcary.org) is a must, as quantities often run out early in the day, and we hate to disappoint Lobster Lovers.
