Youth News (Jan 27, 2019)

Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase. Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free,
there is neither male nor female, for you are all ones in Christ Jesus.
Galatians 3:38

These two quotes above were used during EYC Sunday for our discussion about the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. We had some great discussions about living out our Baptismal Covenant to “strive for justice and peace among all people, and respect the dignity of every human being.” The youth came up with some concrete, actionable items for us to do to work towards all these things. Look for more outreach, more learning about others that may not look or worship like us, and getting know a more diverse group of people as we journey with Christ. It was a humbling and encouraging night with the youth, as often happens.
Here is the youth news for the week:

Nextdoor Instructions

Thank you for agreeing to publicize Lobster Fest on Nextdoor. Here are a few things we’re asking:

  1. Please post this as an Event.
  2. Under “Choose Neighbors,” select Yours and Nearby
  3. For Category, choose Festival. Title is “Lobster Fest Cary“.
  4. Cut and paste this description, please:

Lobster Fest Cary brings the fresh taste of Maine lobster right here to Wake County! The lobsters are pulled out of the water, packed in a cooler truck in Maine and driven overnight to Cary. Dine-In and enjoy a social event or Take Out and make your own event – Live Lobster, Cooked Lobster, Lobster Rolls – you decide! Pre-ordering online (lobsterfestcary.org) is a must, as quantities often run out early in the day, and we hate to disappoint Lobster Lovers.
