Youth News (Jul 22, 2018)

A quick note to let everyone know that the summer movie I had planned for us to go see, “8th Grade” is apparently not showing in this area right now, so that event is canceled (it was on the calendar for this coming Thursday – cross that out). Maybe we can get a copy to watch later; it looked pretty interesting.

We do have another movie outing scheduled, and you may be able guess what it is from the meme above. We’ll meet at the Stone Theatre at Park West 14 in Morrisville on Tuesday, July 31 at 9:30 to see “Despicable Me 3.” The movie starts at 10:00 and the admission is only $1.00 and there are special concessions (kid drink $1.00, kid popcorn $1.00). The movie is a little over 1 ½ hours, so pick up should be at 11:45. RSVP needed by 7/30 at 3 pm.  Please let me know if you’re coming so I know to look for you.

And mark your calendars for our Friday Fun Night in the Youth Wing on August 3rd from 7-10 pm. I haven’t planned all the fun yet, but come ready for games, maybe a campfire, snacks, and who knows what else. RSVP needed by 8/2 at 12 pm. Again, let me know if you are coming. If 10 pm is too late for you (or your parents!), you can get picked up early; just let me know ahead of time. Dinner will NOT be served, just some snacks.

I think that’s all for now. Have a great week!

Peace,

Leah Dail
Youth Program Coordinator

Nextdoor Instructions

Thank you for agreeing to publicize Lobster Fest on Nextdoor. Here are a few things we’re asking:

  1. Please post this as an Event.
  2. Under “Choose Neighbors,” select Yours and Nearby
  3. For Category, choose Festival. Title is “Lobster Fest Cary“.
  4. Cut and paste this description, please:

Lobster Fest Cary brings the fresh taste of Maine lobster right here to Wake County! The lobsters are pulled out of the water, packed in a cooler truck in Maine and driven overnight to Cary. Dine-In and enjoy a social event or Take Out and make your own event – Live Lobster, Cooked Lobster, Lobster Rolls – you decide! Pre-ordering online (lobsterfestcary.org) is a must, as quantities often run out early in the day, and we hate to disappoint Lobster Lovers.
